PhotoRate allows you to create your own image voting website. Visitors to your site can rate images on a scale of 1 to 5, and voting results are displayed on the page. Visitors can also upload their own photos, and leave their email, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ and homepage information as well.

When a visitor first visits the index page, the last photo submitted is displayed. After casting a vote, the visitor is taken through all the photos in the order they were submitted, starting with the last submitted photo, ending with the first submitted photo. When the end of the archive is reached, a message is displayed and a link is given that takes them back to the beginning.

PhotoRate's main page uses a template to display each picture, the vote options, and the vote results. This template, template.html,. can easily be edited with an HTML editor to be changed to your liking. Optionally, you can use this same method for redesigning the Add Photo page (new.php), since this page was designed as simple and plain as possible. :)

The 5 voting options you'll see in the demo can be changed to suit the purpose of your image voting site. You can also change the colors of the 5 vote results bars shown in the demo.

The script is very easy to install, and comes with installation instructions (installation.txt) and a script to automatically create the MySQL table required for storing picture information.

If you've been here before, this is NOT the original PhotoRate that was offered a year ago! :) The original version of PhotoRate, released approximately fall of 2001, was the second script I had written when I first learned PHP, and hence ridden with bugs and eventually removed. Because of the overwhelmingly popular demand for this script, a completely new re-write was made using my 2-year knowledge of PHP, and works MUCH better than the original version. :)
