SquawkBox

"SquawkBox"
(Uses PHP4, No MySQL Required)

SquawkBox is a very flexible shoutbox script for PHP users. A shoutbox allows visitors of your site to post thoughts and comments on your main page with just a few clicks.

Updates: A few new features were added such as automatic text-wrapping, blocks against blank posts, and an "inline" administration feature to delete posts straight from the blogger itself.

Several aspects of the script are configurable. The comments list refreshes after xx seconds, and will continue to refresh xx number of times. You can also have it refresh without stopping. Example, if the refresh rate is 10 seconds, and number of times is 10, the page will automatically reload every 10 seconds, and it'll do this 10 times, and then stop.

You can also specify the max number of messages displayed, filenames of the PHP script and the data file, as well as the font name, font size, and all of the <BODY> properties.

SquawkBox does not require MySQL. It reads/writes it's data using a flat text file. An example HTML page is included to show you how to insert SquawkBox into your existing site using an IFRAME.

Commentary: I was wrong in originally calling this a blogger. I created this script purely out of suggestions from a small group of people who DID call it a blogger. What were they thinking?! So if you came here thinking this was a blogger script, sorry, it's not. It's a "shoutbox", or "tagboard" as some call it. :)
